The non-destructive way of barrier layer inspection

The BarrierWatcher inspects non-visible EVOH barrier layers of finished products for irregularities. Special cameras detect differences between the barrier layer and the support material. Thus, the packaging will not be destroyed during the inspection process. The barrier layer of containers, cups, single-serve capsules as well as closures can be inspected.

The BarrierWatcher is available as a laboratory system with manual feeding or as an inline system integrated into the production line. When used as an inline system, the BarrierWatcher identifies defects and correlates them to the specific cavity. This way, the operator can easily localize faults on the production machine and perform a targeted maintenance. As an inline system, the BarrierWatcher can be configured to all current production rates.
