How can Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning be used in vision inspection? In which applications is it beneficial?
Modern packaging design continues to present new challenges for quality control. A recent example is our collaboration with Börlind GmbH: their “2-Phase Hyaluron Shake” product features so-called no-label-look labels. While these labels create a premium appearance, they also make inspection significantly more demanding.
Because the label and the transparent bottle are visually almost indistinguishable, and because the product contents continuously create ever-changing conditions through air bubbles and varying structures, obtaining reliable inspection results is anything but straightforward.
To ensure dependable quality control despite these challenges, multiple tasks must be mastered simultaneously: from the precise detection and inspection of labels and the reliable identification of codes to the accurate differentiation between packaging, label, and product contents. This makes it possible to consistently safeguard both product quality and brand presentation.
The video below demonstrates what this looks like in practice. Follow the bottles on their journey through the production line at Börlind GmbH and gain insight into the key requirements for inspecting sophisticated packaging concepts.
See for yourself and experience modern quality control in action.
